He bought a Finn Tikka M1891 and sent the barreled action to Fajen in late 80's for them to make this stock for it. That's where the stock for this project came from. Mosin sporters never really caught my eye before though, even though I've had one for 15 years or so. Trigger was a simple fix, I just put in a Timney.īolt handle was a little more complicated since i used the Finn TKIV bolt handle set up as a pattern. I killed 3 deer with it but the OEM Mosin trigger left a lot to be desired and the cheezy bolt handle, while functional, was an eye sore. I finally got around to replacing the overly sanded original stock with a walnut stock I had laying around the shop, removing the bayonet attachment and toyed with several different scopes last fall. I bought this as a sporterized military rifle several years ago along with the Radom pistol in another thread.
